#see power tuesdays: The world as an ecosystem

By mapsontheweb Roads, railroads and urban areas

One way to think our interconnected, hyper-competitive world is to see it as a complex ecosystem based on innumerable interconnections and interdependencies. The map above shows the concentration of urban areas, as well as the network of roads and tracks linking them.

In every ecosystem, there is a fight for survival. This Darwinian struggle is not necessarily won by the strongest, but rather by those who manage to develop a strategy suiting a given environment.

In our networked world, power belongs to those who can adapt to this new geopolitical reality. Linkages, and how to make good use of them are crucial. More on that in tomorrow’s #learn power wednesdays and this week’s #act power thursdays on power and interdependence.
